WHO WE ARE
We are a local project here in Newlyn specifically designed to benefit the well-being and mental health of whoever comes our way.
The project is led by Jason, a keen sailor who pastored Hope Church here in Newlyn between 2012-2020. Since handing over the task of running the church Jason has completed further qualifications, adding a level 2 in Counselling Skills and a level 2 in Mental Health Awareness to the skills and experience gained whilst engaged in continuous pastoral and chaplaincy work during more than 18 years. Although Jason has a personal faith he is passionate about the well-being of every person, whether they have a particular faith or not!
Jason also is well on the way to acquiring a commercial yachtmaster qualification, which will allow the 'at sea' work of the charity to grow. At present anyone heading out with Jason has gone as a personal non-contributing guest on a pleasure craft, but we aspire to being able to take funded clients in the days ahead.

There is a group of committed trustees and a range of volunteers who help from time to time.
WHAT WE DO
We open up the Fishermens Rest for folk to drop by, to come in, have a coffee and sit for a while.
We take bookings for counselling sessions with Jason
We spend time learning how to splice lines and other marine related skills. We practice navigation and passage planning.
We go sailing.
